Editorial Review Hey, even Michael Jordan was a toddler once. And just think of how many more millions he might have made if he had practiced on a hoop-and-ball set like this one when he was a height-challenged hoopster. With the Easy Score Basketball set those impromptu dunking clinics will be challenging, but no longer impossible. Future MJs can now practice their skills with ease, because the Easy Score adjusts to height, has a size-appropriate hoop, and is made of durable plastic. The over-size rim (1 foot across, with a nylon hoop) can be set anywhere, as it only rises from 2.5 to 4 feet high, putting lay-ups and treys just within reach. A sturdy 15-by-19-inch base keeps the basket from tipping; this is important for young hoopsters who get a little too exuberant. Do not buy it for more than $30 This is a great toy-but why it's $44 on Amazon, I don't know. It's about $25-$30, regular price at Toys r Us. The only thing about it is that the new version does seem better-it has a place to hold the basketball for instance. Still my 1 1/2 year old son loves this basketball hoop. He's had it for 3 months now. He is tall for his age, so maybe that makes a difference-but I still think this is age appropriate for toddlers 1 1/2 and up.
Little Tykes Comes Through Again I have purchased Little Tykes products for 32 years. This last purchase was for our granddaughter. The product is great! It is adjustable for different sized/aged children and the beauty of it too, is that it grows with them which happily allows it to be used for a longer length of time than many other toys. It is made to be durable and used over and over. Kids have such fun working to score! It offers great exercise and the fun of as many or few playing with it together. It teaches children to keep trying and to never give up as you get better and better at scoring and can count on a lot of fun. Thank you Little Tykes for still producing such a basic but useful toy for our children.
Fun, but no net We received this as a gift for my 18 month old son this past Christmas. We were very disappointed to find that the basketball set came without a net in the box (and I notice that I'm not the only reviewer to have this problem). I haven't heard back from the seller despite trying to contact them multiple times by phone, email and product help on their website. I finally gave up and ordered a net directly from Little Tikes. On the plus side, we haven't had any trouble with the rim falling off!
